Me too: An Awakening

When people talk about women ‘suddenly’ talking about sexual assault, it isn’t because they just made it up. Its because a lot of the time, like me, they never even considered it was assault. Because he didn’t mean anything by it? He was just having a laugh, right? Don’t take any notice of him? These are the things I was told by the men that witnessed the filthy pervert of a mechanic at the pizza shop I worked in, who wouldn’t keep his dirty hands off of me.  Good, decent men that had no idea how to deal with this pervert. I’m not making excuses for them. Their shouts of ‘come on, enough now’ while standing there doing nothing, were not good enough, but I seriously believe they had no clue what they were supposed to do.

We’ve all been pinched on the bum, right? Sometimes that was okay! It’s not always assaulting someone. It is though if she says no, stop, fuck off, don’t touch me. But grabbing someone’s boobs, trying to put your hand up her top or shoving your hands between their legs, isn’t ever going to be banter! Grabbing them by the Pussy as Trump so eloquently put it, is never going to be anything other than assault. No, Stop it, Fuck off, Get off me, Don’t touch me she isn’t joking, playing or having a laugh when she says that.

And if you are a decent, good man that witnesses that… I’ll tell you what she needs you to do… Something!! Do something for the love of all that’s right in the world. Pull him away, throw him out, tell him to get lost, but do something to help her fight him off. Otherwise, you are just as culpable.
